I am freshly home from spending nearly two weeks on a dream vacation with my family. Thank you to my amazing guest teachers for keeping our classes going while I was away.

We had the best time ever, truly. It was relaxing, rejuvenating, and as close to a perfect retreat as possible. My only complaint to the complaint department is the redeye flight home. Oh wow, it seems like such a great idea. Sleep on the plane, they say!

Due to all the extra downtime provided by the NHL and NBA finals, I was able to film 8 new practices for my On-Demand Library. I enjoyed working on this little project, and hope you enjoy hearing the sounds of the Island of Hawai'i in the background.

I have decided to join a writing challenge for the month of June (thanks for holding me accountable), and the organizer shared some helpful advice for when feeling blocked, and that was to write where it’s warm. In other words, write about what you know, what you're thinking about, and what you’re ready to say. I found this advice quite transferable to yoga practice. Sometimes, the movement, the breath, the focus, and the motivation feels blocked or stuck or extra hard, and it can be a game changer to practice in a zone of familiarity and supportive sensation, to explore challenges where the breath is still accessible and, to essentially, move into where it's warm.

What practice advice or cues have you heard over the years that have made you find that warmth on your mat? One of my all-time favourites is: ‘All moments of intensity will eventually come to an end,’ and I share this a lot in Prenatal Yoga!

I am so happy to be back teaching Monday night (that's tonight; thank you, jet lag, for allowing me to stay up past midnight to write this email). I would love to see you. Here’s what’s on deck this week:
