Practicing yoga has the power to deeply connect us to the wisdom that lives within our bodies, heighten our intuition and make gut feelings very hard to ignore.

It likely won’t make us clairvoyant, but we may be amazed at how connected we feel to the world and those around us.

The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ which means to yoke or unite. Through consistent yoga practice, we begin to truly understand that is impossible to separate the mind - from the body - from the spirit.

Perhaps you started your yoga practice to build strength or to stretch, but over time you noticed you feel a little calmer, less reactive, less judgmental (of yourself and others) and maybe even able to un-sweat the small stuff.

In yoga asana, we move to stir up sensations held in the physical body, in an effort to notice what's stuck, shake it up, find relief and move forward. This stir-up can reveal memories, thoughts, worries, stories and feelings buried in the body long ago, on purpose. But, with trust and time, the mat and practice can be a safe place to process and experience.

There is never any need to rush as the practice is gentle, the practice is yours, and the practice always meets you where you are at.
